Mr Albert Lo
Albert is a graduate of Auckland University. He started his surgical career in General Surgery and obtained his FRACS in 2009. He then completed the fellowship in Vascular Surgery, and was awarded FRACS in 2012. During his training in NZ and Australia, he gained significant experience in all aspects of open and endovascular surgery. He practised as the Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in Wellington Hospital from 2012 to 2014. Since July 2014, Albert joined Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital and Royston Hospital. Albert offers the full range of vascular services, including open arterial and endovascular interventions for carotid disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease publicly and privately. In addition, he also provides dialysis access, endovenous treatment, radio frequency ablation (RFA), sclerotherapy for varicose veins (Southern Cross Affiliated Provider) and thoracoscopic sympathectomy for primary hyperhidrosis.

Dr Umesh C. Pandey

Dr Umesh C. Pandey is an Intervention and Diagnostic Radiologist with post graduate qualifications in Radiology from three continents and has a vast experience of practicing Radiology in many countries. At present he is a Consultant Intervention & Diagnostic Radiologist in Hawke’s Bay Hospital, Hastings. Dr Pandey has performed vascular and nonvascular image guided intervention procedures for more than twenty years. He has keen interest in pain management and he is actively involved in diagnostic and therapeutic image guided interventions to provide relief to his patients. He provides joint, tendon and bursal injections and uses ultrasound and other modalities for accuracy of the procedure. Being a keen sport enthusiast, he takes special interest in sport injuries and is keen to help in the treatment of these. Dr Pandey has been in Hawke’s Bay for more than ten years and loves the area, people and life style. Despite many offers of employment from other centers in the country and abroad, he has made Hawkes Bay his home and will continue to do so. Dr Pandey likes to cook and spends relaxation time in the kitchen. His biggest frustration is not being able to improve in golf despite regular weekly outings to the golf course for many years!

Wendy Barrett
SONOGRAPHER DMU - Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine Wendy trained in Wellington Hospital as a MRT. After qualifying, she worked in Sydney before joining Hawkes Bay DHB in 1988. An interest in ultrasound lead to extensive and comprehensive ultrasound training, and was awarded DMU, Diploma through the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine in 2004. She is an experienced senior sonographer with a comprehensive skill set across all aspects (abdominal, pelvis, musculoskeletal, obstetrics) of ultrasound with particular interest in vascular ultrasound.
Tina Donald
Practice Manager - Tina is responsible for the overall running of this busy practice. She embraces the challenge of running an Ultrasound practice alongside Dr Umesh Pandey and Sonographer Wendy Barrett as well as organising patient consultations with General Surgeon Bertrand Jauffret and Vascular Surgeon Albert Lo. Tina will usually be the person you talk to on the telephone or the one who answers your emails. You are more than welcome to just turn up at Unity reception in GP5 within Hastings Health Centre with your referral from your GP, Midwife or Physiotherapist to secure an appointment.
